This is the Official BBC Children in Need single for 2006. Emma's rendition of a popular 60's song from Petula Clark comes off without a hitch. This is a simple example of taking a classic hit song and keeping it basic and simple. Sometimes I think artists who try to make renditions of classic songs give the song some bad flavor by adding stuff to make the song their own. It is my personal opinion that classic songs should remain true to their roots because that is why we like them in the first place. I have no problems with "modernizing" the song, but sometimes artists go way over the top. Getting back to the review of this single, the bside that is added on this single includes yet another version of Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps which was a bside on Geri's single Bag It Up. This is a slower version than Geri's rendition, but it is still good. I like the Spanish flavor of horns and guitars better in Geri's redition. Since this single is out before the album, Something Tells Me (something's going to happen) is also included on CD 1 to give people some a taste of what the forthcoming album with sound like. If these songs are any indicator, I am looking for the album to be very mature and slower than her previous albums. Last but not least, CD 2 includes an awesome remix of downtown. The remix has a good club and dance flavor to it that makes it an excellent addition to this complete package single.

The only thing that I wonder about is the video. I'm not certain how Emma in a sexy maid outfit in a hotel room has anything at all to do with the single, but it is interesting to watch.
