Background: 2004 marks the 30th Anniversary of The Chicken Shed Theatre Company, and to help commemorate this significant milestone a number of its friends and patrons have contributed to a special fundraising album. The Chicken Shed Album is a collection of the company's own original songs, written for its musical productions over the last thirty years, and featuring special guest performances by various artists. All artists have donated their royalties to the Chicken Shed Trust.

Sometimes is the first song that Paula and Jo wrote together and was subtitled A Song For Mum and featured in the show Paula's Story. It was dedicated to her remarkable mum Jan, a woman who laughed in the face of medical opinion to prove her daughter was an intelligent, witty, free thinking girl limited only by the weakness of her body. Emma Bunton was first brought to a show of ours by her mum Pauline and since then has been a great friend. There seemed no-one more appropriate to sing this than Emma.

Review: The song itself is a bit slow, but it is a song that has to be sung during a theatre performance. This is an album to help raise money for a worthy purpose, so I don't have any problems with that. I'm just glad that Emma is a friend and has agreed to give us fans one more track to add to our collection.
